Brittni

Here's another fab senior- had to share a few grabs from her session. Brittni was great to work with though she couldn't STOP smiling. :) We did a variety of spots for her outdoor session and got lots of variety from her indoor as well. I can't wait to see what she thinks of her sneak peek.

Fall is in the air! It got quite cold last night. While I love fall, I despise winter and so I hate having to say goodbye to summer. The thought of draggin out hats and mittens and boots puts me in a funk. I've been busier than usual for this time of year, so I appreciate everyone's patience in getting galleries posted and processed. If the full calendar is any indication- I would encourage you to book your session soon if you're thinking of portraits before the holidays. Remember I take December off to prepare for and enjoy the holidays with my family.

Enjoy the last week of summer before school! ( at least for many of us Minnesotans).

Mady and Chase

I've had the chance to photograph this brother sister combo on many occassions- Mady is always ready for portaits...but up til' now Chase required some smooth talking and cajoling, but this time Chase came ready to please. He even sported a tattoo for the shoot. I think his mommy is going to love it! And Mady showed me her newly earned Lil' Ms Jackson crown. That's sure to be a keepsake!

Photography and Olympics

This post is going to combine two things on my mind today...that's right, Olympics and Photography.

First off I am excited to watch Greco-Roman wrestler Jake Deitchler from Anoka tonight. Jake is coached by my friend's husband, Brandon Paulson. (who also won a Silver Medal in Atlanta Olympics). The live feed of the match can be watched on www.olympics.com and the replay of the events will be on television tomorrow evening. Jake is in the 66kg class. GOOD LUCK, JAKE!

And- now for the photography part of this post... maybe you've noticed all the awesome Olympic photography equipment in the camera spans of the crowd and reporters. Here's a pretty cool link showing what goes into packing up the necessary gear for an Olympic Photographer.

Congratulations Evan & DeTasha!

Evan and DeTasha tied the knot on 08-09-08 and it was a gorgeous-though muggy day. DeTasha looked amazing and I have to say that the whole wedding party was so pleasant and great to work with that it made me wish I had another couple of hours at least to take more images~ but time didn't hold still and the day went by so quickly. I know DeTasha is anxious to see some images....so I quickly grabbed a few to edit and show. I have MANY MANY more so it will take me a while to get them all up. Congratualtions again. It really was a beautiful day.

Kelby

I just love Kelby's hair. And her smile. It's not hard at all to get a smile from Kelby.....she's got plenty to share.

Alex

Here's a sneak peek into Alex's session. The guy loves football and his truck- taking pictures?....not so much, but we still mangaged to get a lot of great shots.

Seeing Double

These little sisters had me seeing double. Tiny for 18 months old...but they sure are active.

And cute as can be!

Kylee

Kylee is a mover and a shaker and just barely sat still long enough for me to get a few shots in. She loves to move, talk and well, talk. She is an adorable little elf though!

Darren

Darren choice a outdoor session on his farm- which offered a lot of interesting opportunities- as well as having three vehicles and a John Deere to feature. Here are a few from Darren's session.

Beautiful Girls- Handsome Boys

I was so glad that the circumstances worked out to allow me to do this family's portraits. I've taken the boys' portraits at a Metro Portrait Party previously. Since they were from the Cities I wasn't sure when I'd get the opportunity to do so again. But last week the family was heading to the Black Hills for a family vacation when it occurred to 'mom' that she was in the area and just might be able to schedule a session~ and I'm glad it worked out! The boys are always a hoot~ and I had a chance to meet her beautiful (and so nice!) step-daughters as well. I hope they will be as pleased with the portraits as I am.

The Cuz'ins

This little trio made a trip from Indiana and I was so glad they put scheduling a session with me on their priority list while they were up. (or is it over?) We got a lot of fun images and the 'local' cousins, whom I've had the pleasure of photographing on several occassions now- even got in for a few.

I hope I created some great memories and keepsakes for them. I hope they will enjoy this sneak peek while they patiently wait for the rest of their gallery.

Things are gearing up - as they usually do this time of year. Senior sessions are booking up, and--no, it's NOT too early to think about Christmas- or at least your Christmas session.

Last year I had several people take the opportunity to order their holiday cards in August and September. How great would that be to cross that item off your to-do list? If you've already had a session and would like to order holiday cards- please let me know. I will repost your gallery for 4 days and create a sample card to your liking free of charge!

It IS hard to think of Christmas with this humidity though, now, isn't it?
