The cousins

When the cousins get together it's a perfect opportunity to get those holiday portraits done.

The red and black outfits looked so sharp! And baby Amelya---while not thrilled to be there, obliged us with some cute smiles and just general sweetness over all.
Here are a few peeks.

Back from Hawai'i

Our studio was closed last week as Jeff and I enjoyed a trip to Ohau, Hawai'i.
It was coincidental to run into three clients in LA during a layover. We sure did a double take when we saw each other. How strange is that? I hope they enjoyed their shopping excursion in LA! Doesn't that sound like fun?

We had a fantastic time in Hawai'i which isn't hard to do- we'd have to work hard not have a good time. The resort has a webcam over the pool, so when I'm missing vacation I like to 'bop over' and see who's swimming. And if it's rainy and windy like it is there tonight it doesn't make me feel as badly.

Not 6 hours after I got off the plan I came down with a head cold like none other I've ever had. So I'm doing my best to get some things done after being gone! If you're waiting for your gallery to go up, I thank you for being patient with me.

Here are a few pictures to share.
Aloha!

At the Tutle Bay Resort.

The spot where LOST and JURASSIC PARK were shot, as well as some other films and TV Shows. Kuhaloa Ranch

Some island off Kuhaloa Ranch. Can't remember the name.

View from our room.

View fromt the lobby. Forgetting Sarah Marshall was taped here evidentally. I've never seen it. Now I wish I had. While we were there, they also taped an espisode of Night Rider. Again- not a fan- so didn't mean a lot. But we stood around until they told us to move. I guess I belong behind a camera.

Autumn Family

Here are a few I just got edited before our studio closes next week. I loved the fall colors of the grove on the family's farm. Such pretty light!

Cole & Lauren

I've been photographing these two since Cole was a little itty baby. He has grown into quite a cooperative model. His sister is adorable as can be but posing for portraits is not on the top of her list- but we always seems to capture some great shots, however. She cracks me up.

Here is a sneak peek of the little duo.

LeBrun

I did Alex's senior portraits this summer, and got an opportunity to do the family's portraits as well. What a great group. I'm sure portraits aren't the boys' idea of a great time, but they were great guys and easy to work with. They even smiled for their mom.

Evan and Tolan

It was a pleasure working with Evan and Tolan. Tolan is quite a little gentleman and full of conversation and compliments. The girls better look out in a few years. Evan is going to be having some surgery and so mom wanted some pictures to capture him before the surgery. He certainly is a sweet boy and I know he'll come through with flying colors. Here are a few images from the session to share.

Ethan and Zach

These two gave me a run for my money.....TWO times the fun were these twin boys.

They were on the go and one the move but I am quite happy especially with the shots I got of the two of them together- just being brothers. Sibling shots are rarely easy- but with a little psychology and patience I think I captured the mischief in their eyes. What handsome
boys they are!

Studio Closing and Order Deadlines

Just a reminder: Our studio will be closed October 20-29th.
If you are in the process of placing and order and do so by October 12- I will do my best to have it available for pick-up prior to our closing. Thank you!

Jordan

Football is Jordan's thing. He loves it- and the season is coming to an end, so it was the perfect time to schedule a mini-session to capture his love of the game!

Olivia

Olivia is nearly one month old- and still tiny and squishy for what I call the "bendy' images. It seems like once a baby hits the one month mark they are just a little less cooperative to oblige those types of poses---so I always encourage people to book those newborn sessions early!

Olivia did wonderfully.

When I tell mom's to get in the picture- they usually are less than enthusiastic. I remember those days of little sleep and functioning in survival mode. Getting your portrait taken isn't high on your list of things to do--but these days are so special. I really wish I had just one picture of myself with my children when they were this teeny tiny and all I wanted to do was hold them close. I told mom the image would be great- despite what she was worried about...mommy hair, no make up, etc. Couldn't be more beautiful. Don't you agree?

Adam and Alex

I couldn't be more pleased with how Adam and Alex's portraits came out. Alex is an active little guy and so I knew I'd have to move quickly- the whole session probably lasted 20 minutes before Alex had had enough of it--and big brother was a great helper as well. I hope mom will love the outcome. I couldn't resist posting some of Alex's cute expressions in this sneak peek.

What a ham.

It was a pleasure photographing Mary Lou and Magdelene for their annual Christmas Session.

I love their matching red dresses. It's always humbling to me when people come from a distance when there are many photographers out there to choose from. Thank you! I enjoy seeing the girls grow and change.

Adam

Meet Adam. Happy, smiley and so adorable. His mother has gotten all three of her boys' portraits taken in an heirloom outfit worn by their father and grandfather in their portraits- so it is pretty special. It doesn't seem that long ago that I did brother Ryan's portraits in the same outfit. I think it's a pretty neat tradition and I bet those wall portraits look pretty cool side-by-side. Besides the heirloom romper- we had a lot of fun with some shots with his favorite toy duck (or is it a goose) and some overalls and hat. (So classic boy!)
