Little Ms. Briley is full of style, independence and sass and I just loved the outfits that mom brought that really showed off her personality. One thing you can always predict about little girls this age is that they are UNpredictable. You never know if you're going to get smiles and cooperation or pensive looks of independence (or tears?!) Briley gave me a lot to work with and an opportunity to try out some new backgrounds as well.

I am so honored with clients, like Briley's mom come a distance and make it a point to schedule their sessions while they are in the area. This last month I had sessions with people from North Dakota, Nebraska, South Carolina and next week I'll be shooting a family visiting from West Virginia! Thank you for taking time out of your vacation plans to allow me to capture your family portraits.

It's hard to believe the 4th of July is right around the corner. Speaking of July, my July calendar is nearly booked, so if you're thinking about summer pictures for the kids, please call or email now to get a session before school starts.

The brother - sister combo had a real sense of style for their sibling session- hats always make for a great portrait 'prop' and the blue color makes Sydney's eyes just pop! Mom wanted a little bit of a urban feel to the pictures and something fun and hip and I think we accomplished that.

Family Celebrations

Tracy had some major accomplishments to celebrate- and what a better way to celebrate than to capture a portrait of what means the most to you- family! Her kids were adorable as could be and we got pictures of them looking angelic (as I'm sure they are) AND just behaving like kids! Look for an article on Tracy coming up next week in the Jackson Pilot discussing some of Tracy's struggles and more importantly her successes!

MUST TAKE PHOTOS Checklist

I happen to come across this and think it is a fabulous checklist full of ideas, month by month- for snapshots to add to your photo albums or scrapbooks. I've always been tempted to try the 325-Photo a Day 'thing', but I have enough insight to know that the 325 project would probably end up being an 8 Day project when I fall off the wagon. Catch Up~

Oh my--- it's been way too long. My poor blog is poorly neglected. What's my excuse? Busy with session- YES. Busy with baby- Yes! Writer's Block-YES! But the best way to get back on the horse is just to delve right in-or so I hope!

I'm going to re-start off with a beautiful gal from a recent senior session that we got in right under the wire for the 2011 senior deadlines.

It's no secret there are lots of options out there for senior pictures...everything from pro's, to a friend with a fancy camera to your mom snapping a few her cell phone and calling it good! If you're still in the decision mode of figuring out what do to for your senior portraits- I recommend an article written by friend and fellow photographer, Natural Impressions -Photography by Justine. She gives some great pointers on things to consider. Check it out HERE.

As the 2011 Senior Portrait year ends- it's already time for those 2012 Seniors to start booking their time slot. My schedule is already starting to fill up. I'd be happy to add you to my schedule or answer any questions you might have.

Dance Orders are Due Monday, March 28

It was the busiest dance week yet ~ with more girls than ever participating in the special dance mini sessions. I've had lot of great feedback on the Silver Set and the girls and their costumes were amazingly beautiful! Along with the variety of custom collages and creations, we had new products as well, such as vintage overlay standouts, pendants and more!

Kenley- Baby Plan Graduate

Kenley is graduating! Graduating from the Portrait Baby Plan that is! It's so fun to watch these little ones changes from their 3 month session when they are bobbley head cuties to the six month when they are able to give you a genuine smile. Then the 9 month (one of my favs) where they can sit and interact, to the final session of the plan..the 12 month - "LOOK AT ME!" session.
At the end of Baby Plan, you'll receive a complimentary 10x20 signature panel featuring one images from each of the sessions to highlight your baby's growth from infant to toddler.
