The Wild Man!

I love crazy hair. I know, I know, I think I've said that a hundred times on my blog, but I do. I love crazy-thick-stick up-crazy-mind-of-it's-own- HAIR! At three months old, Gage's hair is awesome! Mom had to bring him in for a session to capture his awesome headful before it grows long enough to lay down and calm down. I realized the two images I grabbed to post both had hats, so I had to pick one more to show this amazing hair!

Senior Portraits

It's been a busy month of booking seniors, just yesterday alone I had three bookings! The calendar is getting full, so if you haven't booked your session yet and intend to- now would be a great time to get on the books. Besides that, if you book a session in June you receive 24 signature wallets and 10 FREE web-images.

Exciting NEW MOVE!

Some of you may have heard the rumor, or seen the red building going up on the corner. Yes, it's true~ Alison Stumpf Photography has a new studio building and we just completed the move this weekend. I'm so excited with the space and all the flexibility it offers me and my clients! I'm probably most excited to have the spacious dressing room for upcoming senior sessions and all the options for backgrounds. And my north bay window is going to rock for natural light sessions. We still have a lot of work to do on the front of the building and to finish the landscaping and driveway, but for now it feels great to have come this far. I can't wait to show it to you!

I'll try to share some images of the new pad in a future post.

Dressing Slimmer for your Portraits

Who isn't intersted in looking slimmer, especially for portraits? It's a concern many of us have- and in fact I think it's often a reason we mothers especially, don't jump in for portraits with our kids more often.
My friend and fellow photographer, Barb posted an extremely helpful post on her blog with some fabulous tips and hints for dressing slim for portraits. I think you'll find them helpful as well. You can read it HERE
In addition- if you have certain features you are self conscious of- don't hesitate to mention it to me. A skilled photographer will have ways to use light, shadow and posing to bring out your finest qualities while minimizing others. What can't we do? Um, putting hair on a bald head, changing your striped orange and blue shirt to a solid navy sweater, inserting teeth where there are none, ( you think I'm making those up, don't you?) - Photoshop is an amazing tool, but some edits require lots of time and skill and therefore often editing charges will incur. And just because something 'CAN" be done, doens't necessarily mean it SHOULD be done. :) Remember, you still want to you look like yourself so when the kids look back in your family portrait, they recognize all the family members. :)

The Girls

There is something special about sisters- and Ava and Jilian are sure to be special friends as well. I love Ava's little flapper do' and Jilian's outgoing personality.

Chloe

Chloe came to commemorate the wonderful age of 8- before turning 9 in a few weeks. She (and her mom) were a lot of fun and Chloe turned into a real model before the session was over with!

MacArthur

Meet Mac- he's got a big name and a big personality to match. We had a lot of fun and I think we were both wore out by the end of the session. What a fun little personality!
