Tough Guy

Here's my little tough guy! Another Valentine's Day card completed. I wonder how long he'll put up with his mother's shananigans?

Dance Portrait Mini Sessions (and more!)

I've started getting inquiries about whether I am going to do another dance portrait mini-session...the answer is YES! How could I resist seeing all those darling girls and lovely young ladies~ and it's such a treat to get a sneak preview on all the colorful and beutiul costumes!

But, who says the girls should have all the fun? And why just dancers? This year the mini-session is open to anyone who would like to capture their child's passion for a certain sport or activity in portraits!

Ballet, football, soccer, gymnastics, cheerleading, golf, ice-skating, volleyball, basketball, the saxophone....you name it! Bring your costume or jersy and let's have some fun! One day, your child's acitivties may not require you to spend hours of sitting on hard benches... and lacing up pink shoes or screaming at the top of your lungs a number you won't ever forget...Capture Your Child's Passion Today because one day....that tutu and hockey mask will be put away with things from their childhood.

Please note that the dates are tentative at this time. A email flyer will be going out soon. If you want to be sure you get notified, please send me an email and I'll add you to my flyer list. Please feel free to pass this blog link on to anyone whom you think may be interested.

Thank you!

Two I Love

Little Rece is already 1? How can it be? He took a while to warm up, but that never bothers me- (you all know I love some of those somber and serious images the best anyway). But two of my all time favorite from this session include mom too.
As a mother, we all know that images where we are actually WITH our child are few and far between. And then, if you take out the ones where we are dressed in sweats and we look like we haven't slept in weeks (most likely because we haven't) we aren't left with many images that we would be proud for our children to look back on someday. So it's always nice when mom is willing to jump in for a few portraits herself.

One of the things I love the most about the shot is the way Rece's little hand is pressed up against him Momma. They grow up too fast. Rece's full gallery will be up soon. Look for more images of Rece at 1, and momma too.

Is it 2008 already?

Well, I thought I better get on here and post before you really think I fell off the face of the earth and closed up shop. I took advantage of having the studio closed to really try to enjoy the holidays and get caught up on odds and ends. My table was actually cleared off of all orders for the first time in who knows HOW long.

I had just sat down the day after Christmas with my coffee and feeling very motivated to get so much done when the phone rang and I got the terrible news that my mother had had a heart attack and was being transported to Sioux Falls. The good news is she is now back home and life is starting to return to normal and I'm able to return those calls and work on my to-do list again. I'm hoping in the next month to be able to update my website with new images and details.

I'm starting the new year with some ideas for some fun limited edition sessions, new session options and new designs as well.

I thank you for your business and look forward to working with you in 2008!
Happy New Year!

From our home to yours...Merry Christmas!

Wanted to share our family card with all of my blog friends. These cards fold into themselves to make a square, so the ordering looks a little disorganized as posted, but I think you'll get the feel for them. Either way, the message is the same. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from me to you!

5 days old...

Meet sweet baby Garrett- just 5 days old- truly the perfect candidate for a newborn session, don't you think? Garrett was quite happy to have his portraits created. I think he knew before long all his newborn wrinkles would be filled with baby fat and his belly button cord would be no more. I regret not having images like these of my own children. Thank you, Garrett for making the trip from Mankato to see me. :)
