I always enjoy doing portraits for this family. They children are so sweet and it's fun to see the boys being able to 'cooperate' longer with each year under their belt. Not only did we have to fight the Minnesota mosquitoes, but the six kittens who seem to always think the pictures should be all about them. I took a few seconds to snap these images of the kids enjoying the kittens after the pictures were through and love how they turned out. I think they are all animal fans! I hope to have the rest of your family images up in a day or two. Thanks for your patience!

A boy and a BB Gun
Jordan received a bb gun from his grandpa~ a real right of passage for a boy and so Jordan wanted to incorporate his special gift in a few of his portraits. Of course, we took plenty of others without the gun, that just featured his dimples and fabulous smile. I always enjoy doing Jordan's portraits. He is a great kid!

Destination Portraits
We headed to Sioux Falls for a destination session for Kelsey's senior portraits. We really had some cool metro and urban-esque spots and the only problem was being forced to quit for supper when the light disappeared. My good friend Kari, a fellow photographer met us there and we always seem to work well together, being able to bounce ideas off each other and gain inspiration that way.
I thought it might be fun to share a few shots of the actual shoot. Tanner was truly awesome help as our equipment caddy, (Thanks, Tanner!) and we let him get in on the role of photographer as well. Here is Tanner getting the shot- and the resulting image- before and after editing. I think he's got a good eye. ;)

Mariah
Mariah helped me break in the new studio and we had a great time. Mom and grandma came and took it all in as well. Grandma agreed that senior portraits sure have changed!
Mariah was a great sport, willing to let me pull out different things I've been wanting to try.
I'm stoked about the outcome---AND the space and opportunities the new studio gives.
Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
My senior calendar is nearly completely booked solid for July and August and into September.
If you've been putting off your session, now is the time to call! ;)
