Kelsey and Brock- Prom 09

Here's a short little video I threw together of Kelsey and Brock. Don't forget to shut the music off on the playlist to the right. :) I'll post a few photos of their session as well.
I wish it would have been nicer weather - but hope everyone had a fabulous time!
Congrats to Abby M. I hear you won my gift certificate! I look forward to hearing from you to set up a time for your senior portraits!

TWILIGHT shoot

If you know me, you know my current obsession is all things Twilight. So when mom requested a session for her daughter forcusing on her love of the movie and books by Stephenie Meyer- I was more than excited to see what we could do! Mallory came prepared with all her books and we had a deep discussion between shots of whether we were Team Jacob or Team Edward...what a lot of fun! Mom plans on using some of the shots for Mallory's Twilight themed party in June. What an awesome idea!
I got a little carried away on the collage- note the postmark at the top from FORKS, WA. LOL

Here is your sneek peak~ I'll have the full session up for viewing in a day or so. I had so much fun shooting and editing these.

Too true?

I found this humorous Mother's Day card, and thought many of you could relate...

I know I can.

Wall Galleries- Visualizing your space

I've meant to get this last 'installment' in the discussion of choosing the portraits for your wall gallery--and somehow time got away from me. I hope in previous entries found here and here; I have been able to give some suggestions for choosing the right sized wall portraits for your space and some considerations when making those decisions.
I wanted to show you a sample wall of one of my clients. She wanted to add a collage of new baby to the wall where the existing collage of big brother hung. I encouraged her to send me a picture of the wall so that I could digitally put the new collage next to the existing one so that she could 'see' better what she wanted.

The collage size is 16x20- and you can see that two 16x20's hung side by side look nice---but I was interested (as she was)to see what a wall gallery of different images from the session would look like hung together. You can see it's a fabulous space for displaying favorite images.

Sometimes people think they don't have the 'wall space' for wall portraits, but once they start looking more discerningly they find more options for displaying their favorite images.
So finally, here is a view of the options for a sample wall. The client loved the final look and the ease of putting things together once she received the final portraits. I guess I should have her send me another photo of the final result! :)

Madelyn

6 month sessions are one of my favorite sessions- babies are alert and ineteracting and willing to usually give you at least one smile or two. We shot a white on white session with Madelyn that really makes her beautiful sking and eyes pop right out. She is a beautiful baby and a sweetie to boot.

Grandkids

You've maybe seen some of these children on my blog before. I've been fortunate to have taken their portraits several time- and I welcomed the chance to meet Grandma and Grandpa too- even though I couldn't get their names right to save my life- right, June and John? :)

I love the bright colors they chose for their clothing and thinks it made for a really great colorful spring portrait. They look great!

Here come Haiden and Peter Cotton Tail

Haiden visited me for his 6 month session and he was nothing but smiles. I took the opportunity of his good mood to do some Easter portraits with him as well.

Happy Easter!

Sierra

Here is a sneek peak at Sierra's three year portraits. She is a beauty and her session is so bright and fun it surely means spring is on its way. The rest of her portrait images will be up in a day or two.

Dance Portraits are up for viewing

If your dancer participated in our mini-dance portraits last week, the images are now up for viewing! You should have received an email with further information.
Please note the orders are due by midnight April 6th. Please place your order prior to that to receive your session fee credit.

Thank you!

Gage

As a photographer, you gotta love it when a dad-shortly after finding out he's expecting a third child, says, "Looks like that means more pictures from Alison Stumpf!" I love that! And finally little Gage has arrived. Mom is paying attention to my blogging how getting em in younger for newborn pictures is better than later- and so we scheduled a tentative date before Gage was born and we readjusted when she called me on the way home from the hospital!
Gage is 6 days old and I bet even by now he has changed so much. The umbilical cord has probably come off, he's wrinkly skin is probably smoothing out- so that is what newborn portraits are all about...capturing those special once in a lifetime moments.

And mom's are never too thrilled about the idea of getting in on the portraits themselves- after all, post partum hormones and sleepless nights never go a long way towards making one feel gorgeous..but I think you'll agree mom looks beautiful and mostly so in love with that little bundle of sleeplessness joy.

Thanks for your patience with me getting this edited and up. It's been a very busy week and I'm just barely keeping my head above water. Someone throw me a life-jacket!
