A comments contest!

It's time for some thing fun before the holiday portrait season ties me to my computer and camera for endless hours! I see you lurkers out there....my look stats go up daily but you're all as quiet as church mice! Come on, people--the fun of a blog is the interaction! ;)

Doesn't Tori have the most lovely eyes? I couldn't resist proofing just one from her Senior session before I have a little down time next week. Our studio will be closed until October 1st, but one quick post to satisfy the urge!

Ho Ho Ho

Don't you hate going into stores in July and seeing back to school ad already? Or how about Christmas decorations in September? And then here I come telling you that those holiday slots are getting booked already and it's not even October! Well it's true. I have a limited number of day time appointment slots for October available but most of October is already booked. So if you're thinking of holiday portraits please think about booking soon. Reminder: Our studio will be closed Sept 19-Sept 27th, but I'll return all calls and inquiries after September 27th.

Sweet Feet!

When's the last time you've taken a picture of your kids' toes? Come to think of it, I dont' know if I 've even GOT a picture of my OWN kids' feet...but I sure have a lot of other people's children's toes! They are tiny..they are cute, and they won't stay that tiny or cute forever. Here are a few of my favorite feet images.

New Baby- New Mommy

Little Britta, only 10 days old. There is something about a newborn that can't be captured in a 3 month old. If a client is looking to get newborn portraits created, I highly recommend they do it in the first 2 weeks of babies life. The wrinkly skin, the tiny folds, not to mention the way those newborns curl and bend and *sometimes* sleep through a session. I try to encourage mother's to get in a few images as well, and no surprise, most aren't real thrilled at the prospect. Afterall, sleepless nights, and a schedule of bottles and diapers doesn't leave a lot of time for a beauty regimen. But how many of us would love an image of ourselves with our own mothers in those first magic weeks of madness, chaos and full blown love. When I create these images I always think how special that image is going to be to baby and mother in years to come.

The new GAP model....Mr. Owen

Big blue eyes and bright red hair make a striking portrait, don't you think? Surely he could be a GAP model....if he'd sit still long enough. Owen- you wore me out! :) But you sure are handsome!

Welcome Merritt Wesley!

I am a Great-Aunt again! Tanya and Jared and big brother Carson welomed little Merritt Wesley on September 1st. He's as sweet as can be with light brown hair and little rosebud lips. Merritt is sure to be for lots of 'helpful' attention from his big brother. Sofie and Calvin were very thrilled to see him, and Sofie is already planning their third child, though Tanya isn't even out of the hospital yet. Usually not what one wants to think about while they are still recovering from delivery! I'm sure you'll be seeing more of Merritt in the next year!

Boji Boatin'

Now I am already behind on my blog and I haven't even been at it that long. Family and senior sessions, as well as preparing to send my own two children off to school has put me behind, but I'm catching up with this post. When the snow is falling this December, the Vosses/Voss's/Vos...*how DO you pluralize Voss!?...the Voss FAMILY will remember their Boji Boating summer.

Just a reminder- fall sessions are already filling up. Outdoor sessions are extremely limited so please plan accordingly for your portrait needs this holiday. Before you know it, boating will be replaced with snowmobiling....brrrr!
