Little Britta, only 10 days old. There is something about a newborn that can't be captured in a 3 month old. If a client is looking to get newborn portraits created, I highly recommend they do it in the first 2 weeks of babies life. The wrinkly skin, the tiny folds, not to mention the way those newborns curl and bend and *sometimes* sleep through a session. I try to encourage mother's to get in a few images as well, and no surprise, most aren't real thrilled at the prospect. Afterall, sleepless nights, and a schedule of bottles and diapers doesn't leave a lot of time for a beauty regimen. But how many of us would love an image of ourselves with our own mothers in those first magic weeks of madness, chaos and full blown love. When I create these images I always think how special that image is going to be to baby and mother in years to come.
